besides/bɪ'saɪdz/prep.除……以外(还)
eg：What other languages do you know besides English?
除了英语之外，你还懂什么语言？
辨析except，except for，besides与but
except
意为“除了”，表示从整体中除去，不包括所除事物在内。
except for
意为“除了”，其前后所用的词或词组所表示的不是同类事物，后面所说情况是对前面所说基本情况在细节上加以纠正。
besides
意为“除……以外(还)”，包括所除事物在内。
but
意为“除了”，常用在no, none, all, nobody, where, everything, everyone等后。
eg：All the essays are well written except Jim’s.
除了吉姆的，所有的文章写得都很好。
His essay is well written except for a few spelling mistakes.
除了几处拼写错误之外，他的文章写得很好。

【点拨】此题采用正确把握语境法。except表示“除了”，
